JLS

Seeing the Noughties out in style are schoolgirl favourites JLS, who have taken the British music scene by storm since finishing runners-up in last year’s final.

Over the past year Marvin, Oritsé, JB and Aston have been a busy bunch. On returning from The X Factor Live Tour the lads saw their debut single, Beat Again, soar to Number One, selling over 100,000 records in its first week of release.

The boys have also been hitting the festival circuit with appearances at T4 on the Beach, The Summer Island Festival, and Leeds’ Party in the Park; which will stand them in good stead when they embark on their first UK tour in February.

Girlband

Made up of sisters Tita and Phoebe Lau, Marisa Billiteri, and Layla Manoochehri, Girlband brought a sense of fun to last year’s proceedings. Always up for a laugh and a joke with their fellow finalists, The X Factor house was a decidedly quieter place once the girls had been eliminated.
The band reportedly split after their exit from the show, and are said to be working on solo projects.

Bad Lashes

In a knockout competition someone has always got to go first, and unfortunately for these north-east lasses their dreams of winning The X Factor seemed to be over before they had even begun.
However a first round exit was not enough to deter the girls from achieving their ambitions, and 12 months down the line Sophie, Sam, Stacey, and Emily are still plugging away gigging up and down the country.
